buy an aloe plant , cut a leave . put in fridge. Cut yourself a small slice . cut in half. rub on problem spot. if all over (scrape all aloe from leaf put in blender , put small amount of water , use after bathing , store left over in air tight container in fridge)

pure aloe dries to a smooth film, lets skin breath and decreases itchiness.

Just to let you know I think your blog is awesome!

I dont neccesarilly agree with everything you say, but having been brought within a strict evangelical church, full of well-intentioned and caring people but whom sadly never really stopped looking at my huge intellectual curiosity suspiciously, I find it very refreshing to find a place where questioning faith is actually seen as a good thing, as a natural - and even good - part of being a Christhian.

Greetings from Peru!

Awesome. When we were interviewing nannies, Jay, who is three, was getting ready for bed. One of the nanny candidates, who was particularly good looking, happened to be there at bath time. Jay came bounding into the living room and said, "Hey, wanna watch me take a bath?" Ben was crushed he hadn't thought of that line in college.

As for whether the job requirements are legal or not...well, that's a harder question than it may seem. It is not lawful for privite employers to discriminate on religious grounds unless the employer is a chruch that qualifies for certain religious exemptions to Title VII. For more analysis than that, I'll have to charge you. But your grace point couldn't be more on point. This is a big issue for me because I grew up in a church where grace was a footnote instead of a central message of the Gospel. Grace brought me back to christiantiy and grace keeps me here. I don't do anything to deserve it and I can't loose it. Thank God. But so many folks have no idea what the word means. Thanks for working on that.

Very cool. I had to laugh at the "you're in my seat" part. As newcomers to a small town, we ran into that look several times as we visited churches in the area.

How do Christians justify pre-marital sex? Cause we know the young ones, at least, are having it. And if you are LGBT and don't live in one of 6 six states, you are having it too, most likely.

On one of our RV visits to Pueblo, Mattias spent the night with us one night. One of the first things he asked was if we had smoke alarms. I thought he was worried about safety but soon realized he was worried about noise!

I, too, envy his memory sometimes, but like you, there are a couple of those days I'd like to forget.

Christian, you definitely rose to the challenge. Great job!

This reminded me of a note I posted on FB about Mom and communion last year. I think I'll post it on my blog with a link to your post so people can check out how things change over the generations and yet how they stay the same.

I knew my oldest (who hasn't yet been baptized) was ready for communion one Sunday when he wanted to go forward with his dad and me to receive it. We had a quick exchange about what communion was, but the main thing I wanted to know was that he loved Jesus. At 2 or 3 years old, that's all he needed to know. It was the same with our younger son. Thanks for the article!

Good thoughts, as usual.

Regarding #6, I think it would be less of an issue if we as the church focused our outreach and mission work on individuals rather than institutions. - if we took meals to our neighbor who is sick rather than donating to Meals on Wheels, if we painted Widow Smith's house ourselves rather than donating to Habitat for Humanity. If we really love our neighbors as Jesus told us to, we'll get involved on a Good-Samaritan type personal level rather than on a sanitary institutional level.

Keep on Writing and God bless.
